#APCCPH2017 | Rodney Ramos opens 15 slots for comics portfolio review

Veteran comics penciller and inker Rodney Ramos is opening 15 slots for one-on-one portfolio review at AsiaPop Comicon Manila 2017.

Chosen artists will learn how to improve their portfolios - dissecting their works individually and collectively. The artist, who has worked for Marvel, DC and Valiant Comics, will teach the aspiring comic book illustrators which entries should be included and highlighted in their samples. This will help the hopefuls present their creations professionally to big comics companies.

Interested illustrators are advised to email their best works on or before Aug. 24 at natasha.lee@alahligroup.com.

Ramos has been working in the industry for over 15 years. Starting out at Marvel Comics as one of Romita's Raiders - an art apprenticeship program run by John Romita, Sr., from which many successful artists would emerge - Ramos later established himself as a penciller on titles such as Thundercats, Marvel Presents, What If, and Conan. His inking also made a mark on titles such as Iron Man, Gambit, Punisher War Journal, and Peter Parker: The Amazing Spider-Man.

To date, he has worked at Marvel, Marvel UK, DC, Valiant, Acclaim, Malibu, and Continuity, on projects such as X-Men, Batman, Wonder Woman, as well as the critically acclaimed gritty cyberpunk series Transmetropolitan. His recent works include DC's 52, Countdown, Green Lantern, Batman, JSA, Magog, Vertigo's Bang Tango, Independence Day, and Doctor Who.
